PERFECTLY SITUATED at Bellingham Station, The Carriages Tea Room offers a warm welcome and a unique dining experience. Passengers can enjoy a range of light lunches, freshly baked scones, homemade cakes and afternoon teas on-board the 1957 Mark 1 Carriages.

The Carriages were brought to Northumberland from Okehampton in Devon on the back of lowloaders in 2011.

The project was funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund and the Leader Foundation. With the help and hard work of several local volunteers it took a year for The Carriages to be restored back to their former glory to be enjoyed once again.

The Carriage's still contain the original seats and many of the original fixtures and fittings from when the train was last used for public service. We have added perspex screens above seats to provide a safer environment to visitors and we are limiting access. Tables should be pre-booked as seating is limited.

Platform 1 is our new outdoor seating area for continental style dining enjoying local and continental beers, wines and cocktails with light meals.
